INTENDED USE
Qualitative detection of antibodies against Anaplasma spp. in serum or plasma from dogs, for veterinary point-of-care use. It aids in evaluating exposure to canine anaplasmosis, a tick-borne bacterial disease caused by A. phagocytophilum and A. platys. A positive result indicates exposure or immune response rather than active infection, and must be interpreted together with clinical signs, tick-exposure history, and other diagnostics such as PCR.
PRINCIPLE
The ANA Ab Rapid Test is a lateral-flow immunochromatographic assay based on colloidal gold labeling. The test cassette contains a nitrocellulose membrane with a test (T) line pre-coated with capture antigen and a control (C) line. When the processed serum/plasma is added to the sample well, it migrates by capillary action. If Anaplasma-specific antibodies are present, they bind the gold-conjugated antigen and are captured at the T line, forming a visible colored band. The C line should always appear, confirming the assay ran correctly. Results are read visually by the naked eye within the stated time; no instrument is required.
SPECIMEN
Use fresh serum or plasma from dogs. Collect blood by venipuncture; allow clotting and separate serum, or collect into anticoagulant for plasma, then separate promptly. Mix well before application. Avoid hemolysis; test fresh or store refrigerated (2–8 °C) if delayed.
