Bovine Roatvirus antigen (BRV Ag) Rapid Test Kit

Catalog No.:RBRVAGF

Description

This test qualitatively detects Bovine rotavirus antigen in fresh fecal samples collected from cattle (bovine). It aids in the on-farm identification of rotavirus, a leading viral cause of neonatal calf diarrhea, delivering a visual result in minutes at the point of care.

INTENDED USE

Qualitative detection of Bovine rotavirus antigen in fresh fecal samples collected from cattle, for veterinary point-of-care use. It aids in the diagnosis of rotaviral diarrhea, a common cause of scours in young calves. Results must be interpreted together with clinical signs and other diagnostics.

PRINCIPLE

The BRV Ag Rapid Test is a lateral-flow immunochromatographic assay based on colloidal gold labeling. The test cassette contains a nitrocellulose membrane with a test (T) line pre-coated with capture antibody and a control (C) line. When the processed fecal sample is added to the sample well, it migrates by capillary action. If the target Bovine rotavirus antigen is present, it binds the gold-conjugated antibody and is captured at the T line, forming a visible colored band. The C line should always appear, confirming the assay ran correctly. Results are read visually by the naked eye within the stated time; no instrument is required.

SPECIMEN

Use a fresh fecal sample collected from the rectum of the calf or cattle. Avoid contamination with bedding, soil, or urine; test promptly after collection. Do not use samples that have been frozen and thawed or left at ambient temperature for an extended period.
