Feline parvovirus antibody (FPV Ab) Rapid Test Kit
Catalog No.:
Description
The FPV Ab Rapid Test qualitatively detects antibodies against feline parvovirus (FPV) in whole blood, serum, or plasma collected from cats. It provides a visual result at the point of care within minutes, supporting assessment of vaccination status or prior exposure to the panleukopenia virus.

INTENDED USE
Qualitative detection of antibodies to feline parvovirus (FPV, causative agent of feline panleukopenia) in whole blood, serum, or plasma collected from cats, for veterinary point-of-care use. It aids in evaluating vaccination status or immune exposure. A positive result indicates prior infection or vaccination rather than active disease; results must be interpreted together with clinical signs and other diagnostics.
PRINCIPLE
The FPV Ab Rapid Test is a lateral-flow immunochromatographic assay based on colloidal gold labeling. The test cassette contains a nitrocellulose membrane with a test (T) line pre-coated with capture antigen and a control (C) line. When the processed whole blood, serum, or plasma is added to the sample well, it migrates by capillary action. If anti-FPV antibodies are present, they bind the gold-conjugated antigen and are captured at the T line, forming a visible colored band. The C line should always appear, confirming the assay ran correctly. Results are read visually by the naked eye within the stated time; no instrument is required.
SPECIMEN
Use whole blood, serum, or plasma collected from cats. For serum, allow clotting and centrifuge; for plasma, use anticoagulated blood. Use fresh samples; avoid hemolysis. If not tested promptly, store serum/plasma at 2–8 °C for a short period or freeze; mix well and bring to room temperature before testing.
