INTENDED USE

The Canine Anaplasma Antibody (ANA Ab) Test kit is a fluorescence-based immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of antibodies against Anaplasma spp. (including A. phagocytophilum and A. platys) in canine whole blood, serum, or plasma. It is designed to support screening for Anaplasma exposure and the clinical diagnosis of canine anaplasmosis, particularly in dogs presenting with fever, lethargy, or thrombocytopenia. A positive result indicates exposure but does not distinguish active infection from prior exposure; clinical correlation is advised.

PRINCIPLE

The test uses an indirect fluorescence immunoassay format. Recombinant Anaplasma surface proteins are immobilized on the nitrocellulose membrane as the capture antigen. If present, anti-Anaplasma antibodies in the sample bind to these immobilized antigens; a fluorescently labeled anti-canine IgG conjugate then binds the captured antibodies to form a detectable complex at the test (T) line. A control (C) line validates the assay. A portable fluorescence reader measures the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio, providing a qualitative (or semi-quantitative S/CO) result.

SPECIMEN

Canine whole blood, serum, or plasma (WB/S/P). Fresh samples are recommended; specimens should be handled and stored according to standard procedures before testing.
