INTENDED USE
For in vitro detection of anti-Leishmania infantum antibodies in canine whole blood, serum, or plasma. It aids in the screening of dogs in or returning from endemic areas and the diagnosis of suspected canine leishmaniosis. A positive result indicates exposure or infection; interpret with clinical signs and additional testing. For veterinary use only.
PRINCIPLE
The test is a fluorescence immunochromatographic assay in an indirect format. Recombinant or whole Leishmania antigen is immobilized at the T line on the nitrocellulose membrane, with a control line at C. The conjugate pad contains fluorescent microsphere-labeled anti-canine IgG secondary antibody. If present, anti-Leishmania antibodies in the sample bind the immobilized antigen at the T line and are then recognized by the labeled secondary antibody. The analyzer reads the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio to determine the presence and relative level of anti-Leishmania antibodies.
