INTENDED USE
The fNT-proBNP FIA test is intended for the quantitative determination of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (fNT-proBNP) in feline serum or plasma. It serves as an aid in the assessment of myocardial stretch and cardiac function, supporting the diagnosis and monitoring of feline heart disease including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and heart failure. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical evaluation and other diagnostic findings.
PRINCIPLE
The fNT-proBNP FIA uses a double-antibody sandwich format on a nitrocellulose membrane. Fluorescent microsphere-labeled anti-fNT-proBNP antibodies bind the analyte in the sample, and the complex is captured by immobilized anti-fNT-proBNP antibodies at the T line. The C line confirms proper assay performance. The FIA analyzer reads the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio and converts it to a quantitative fNT-proBNP concentration via a calibration curve.
