INTENDED USE
This test is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of feline Cystatin C (fCys C) concentration in feline serum or plasma, used with a fluorescence immunoassay analyzer. It is used as an aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of feline renal failure and chronic kidney disease, and in the assessment of glomerular filtration rate. For professional veterinary use only.
PRINCIPLE
The test employs a quantitative double-antibody sandwich fluorescence immunoassay. Feline Cystatin C in the sample first combines with fluorescent nanomaterial-labeled anti-Cystatin C antibody on the conjugate pad. The complex migrates by capillary action along the nitrocellulose membrane and is captured at the T line by immobilized anti-Cystatin C antibody. The fluorescence analyzer reads the T-line signal intensity and reports the Cystatin C concentration, while the C line confirms proper assay performance.
SPECIMEN
Serum or plasma (S/P). Separate serum or plasma (EDTA anticoagulant recommended) from whole blood within 3 hours of collection; use clear, non-hemolyzed specimens and avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
