INTENDED USE
The FeLV Ag FIA test is intended for the qualitative detection of Feline Leukemia Virus p27 antigen in feline serum or plasma. It is used as an aid in the diagnosis of FeLV infection, the screening of at-risk or asymptomatic cats, and the monitoring of viremic cats. Results should be interpreted together with clinical signs, history, and confirmatory testing such as PCR.
PRINCIPLE
The FeLV Ag FIA uses a double-antibody sandwich format on a nitrocellulose membrane. Fluorescent microsphere-labeled anti-p27 monoclonal antibodies bind FeLV p27 antigen in the sample to form complexes that migrate and are captured by anti-p27 antibodies immobilized at the T line. A C line verifies assay validity. The FIA analyzer measures the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio and reports a qualitative or semi-quantitative result.
