INTENDED USE

This test is intended for the in vitro simultaneous detection and differentiation of Giardia intestinalis antigen and Tritrichomonas foetus antigen in feline fecal or rectal swab specimens, used with a fluorescence immunoassay analyzer. It assists in the rapid diagnosis of chronic large-bowel diarrhea, in the differential diagnosis between Giardiasis and tritrichomonosis, and in monitoring treatment efficacy. For veterinary point-of-care use only.

PRINCIPLE

The test utilizes dual-channel fluorescence immunochromatography on a single strip with two independent T lines. The Giardia channel uses a sandwich assay: anti-Giardia monoclonal antibodies on the T line capture Giardia-specific antigens bound to fluorescent nanoparticle-conjugated anti-Giardia antibodies. The Tritrichomonas foetus channel uses a competitive/ sandwich format in which T. foetus antigens are captured at their dedicated T line by fluorescent-labeled anti-TRF antibodies. A single sample application migrates through both channels; the fluorescence analyzer reads each T-line signal independently against the C line and reports results for both targets.

SPECIMEN

Feces (fecal swab). Collect a fresh fecal sample, elute in the provided diluent, mix thoroughly, and apply the prepared sample to the cassette; results are read by the analyzer after the specified incubation.
