INTENDED USE
The FPV Ab FIA test is intended for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of antibodies against Feline Panleukopenia Virus in feline whole blood, serum, or plasma. It assists veterinarians in evaluating vaccination status and protective antibody levels, and in assessing immune protection before high-risk exposure. Results should be interpreted together with vaccination history and clinical context.
PRINCIPLE
The FPV Ab FIA uses an indirect fluorescence immunoassay format. Recombinant FPV antigen (e.g., VP2) is immobilized on the nitrocellulose membrane to capture FPV-specific antibodies in the sample. A fluorescently labeled anti-feline IgG secondary antibody binds the captured antibodies, producing a signal at the T line; the C line confirms validity. The FIA analyzer measures the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio to report antibody presence and relative level.
