Feline Tritrichomonas foetus Antigen (TRF Ag) Test kit

Catalog No.:FRFTRFAGF

Description

This fluorescence immunoassay (FIA) rapid test detects Tritrichomonas foetus antigen (TRF Ag) in feline feces. It aids in diagnosing tritrichomonosis, a common cause of chronic large-bowel diarrhea in cats.

INTENDED USE

The TRF Ag FIA test is intended for the qualitative detection of Tritrichomonas foetus antigen in feline fecal samples. It supports diagnosis of tritrichomonosis, screening of asymptomatic carrier cats in multi-cat households or catteries, and monitoring of treatment efficacy. Results should be interpreted together with clinical signs and other diagnostic methods.

PRINCIPLE

The TRF Ag FIA uses a double-antibody sandwich format on a nitrocellulose membrane. Fluorescent microsphere-labeled anti-TRF antibodies bind Tritrichomonas foetus antigen in the fecal extract, and the complex is captured by immobilized anti-TRF antibodies at the T line. The C line verifies assay validity. The FIA analyzer reads the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio and reports a qualitative result.

SPECIMEN

Feces. Collect fecal material with the provided swab, mix thoroughly in sample diluent, and apply the prepared extract; fresh (preferably diarrheic) samples are recommended.
