INTENDED USE

The Veterinary Rabies Antibody (Rabies Ab) Test Kit is a fluorescence immunoassay intended for the detection of rabies virus neutralizing antibodies in serum, plasma, or whole blood from vaccinated dogs, cats, and ferrets. It is designed to support vaccination efficacy monitoring (post-vaccination titer evaluation) and compliance testing for international pet-travel requirements. Positive or equivocal results should be confirmed with reference laboratory methods where regulated. For veterinary use only; not for human diagnostic use.

PRINCIPLE

The test employs an indirect fluorescence immunoassay format. Rabies virus antigen is immobilized on the nitrocellulose membrane at the test line (T line). During incubation, rabies-specific antibodies in the specimen bind to the immobilized antigen; a fluorescently labeled anti-species conjugate then binds the captured antibodies, generating a detectable signal at the T line. A control line (C line) verifies specimen volume and membrane flow. The fluorescence analyzer reads the T-line/C-line intensity ratio, yielding a qualitative or semi-quantitative estimate of rabies antibody level.

SPECIMEN

Whole blood, serum, or plasma (WB/S/P). Avoid hemolyzed or contaminated samples; use fresh or properly stored specimens.
