INTENDED USE
For in vitro quantitative determination of cNT-proBNP concentration in canine serum or plasma. Intended as an aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiac disease (e.g., myxomatous mitral valve disease, dilated cardiomyopathy) and in differentiating cardiac from primary respiratory causes of dyspnea. For veterinary use only, interpreted with clinical evaluation.
PRINCIPLE
The test is a fluorescence immunochromatographic assay based on the double-antibody sandwich format for quantitative measurement. The nitrocellulose membrane contains a T line coated with a capture antibody against cNT-proBNP and a C control line. Fluorescent microsphere-labeled anti-cNT-proBNP detection antibodies are present on the conjugate pad. The peptide in the sample binds the labeled antibody and is captured at the T line, forming a sandwich. A fluorescence analyzer measures the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio and converts it to a quantitative cNT-proBNP concentration via a calibration curve.
SPECIMEN
Canine serum or plasma (S/P). Collect the sample and, because NT-proBNP is susceptible to degradation, perform the assay promptly after collection using the supplied buffer and pipette.
