INTENDED USE
The Canine Cystatin C Test kit is a fluorescence-based immunoassay intended for the quantitative determination of Cystatin C in canine serum or plasma. It is designed to aid early detection of renal dysfunction, monitoring of kidney disease progression and treatment efficacy, and assessment of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) as a sensitive endogenous biomarker. This product is for veterinary diagnostic use in canine patients and should be interpreted with other clinical and laboratory data.
PRINCIPLE
The test employs a double-antibody sandwich fluorescence immunoassay on a nitrocellulose membrane. Fluorescent microsphere-labeled anti-Cystatin C antibodies bind to canine Cystatin C in the sample, and the complex is captured at the test (T) line by immobilized anti-Cystatin C antibodies. A control (C) line confirms assay validity. A portable fluorescence analyzer measures the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio, which is proportional to the Cystatin C concentration, providing a quantitative result.
