INTENDED USE
The Canine distemper virus antigen (CDV Ag) Test kit is a fluorescence-based immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) antigen in canine ocular, nasal, and oral secretions. It is designed to assist veterinarians in the early diagnosis of canine distemper in dogs with fever, respiratory, or neurological signs, and in monitoring viral clearance during treatment. This product is for veterinary in vitro diagnostic use; results should be interpreted together with clinical signs and other laboratory findings.
PRINCIPLE
The test employs a double-antibody sandwich fluorescence immunoassay on a nitrocellulose membrane. CDV antigen in the prepared secretion sample binds to anti-CDV monoclonal antibodies conjugated with fluorescent microspheres. The complex migrates to the test (T) line, where immobilized anti-CDV capture antibodies retain it, producing a measurable fluorescent signal. A control (C) line validates the assay. A portable fluorescence analyzer reads the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio to provide a qualitative result. Fresh secretions are recommended for optimal performance.
SPECIMEN
Canine secretions (eye, nasal, or oral), collected with a swab. The swab should be fully soaked in sample diluent and tested promptly; if delayed, store appropriately according to the instructions for use.
