INTENDED USE
For in vitro qualitative detection of canine influenza virus (CIV) antigen in canine nasal or oropharyngeal secretions collected by swab. It assists veterinarians in the rapid diagnosis of canine influenza, aiding differentiation from other causes of respiratory disease in dogs. For veterinary point-of-care use; results should be interpreted alongside clinical signs.
PRINCIPLE
The assay is a fluorescence immunochromatographic test based on the double-antibody sandwich principle. The nitrocellulose membrane bears a T line coated with anti-CIV capture antibody and a C control line. Fluorescent microsphere-labeled anti-CIV detection antibodies are present on the conjugate pad. Viral antigen in the processed swab sample binds the labeled antibody and migrates laterally, becoming captured at the T line to form a sandwich complex. The fluorescence analyzer reads the T/C intensity ratio for qualitative result determination.
SPECIMEN
Canine nasal secretions (nasal swab; oropharyngeal swab also commonly used). Collect secretions with the provided swab, elute into the sample diluent, and apply the prepared sample to the cassette.
