INTENDED USE
The Canine Pancreatic Lipase (cPL) FIA Test Kit is intended for the in vitro detection of canine pancreas-specific lipase (cPL) in canine serum or plasma. It is used as an aid in the diagnosis of pancreatitis and for monitoring pancreatic health in dogs. Results should be interpreted together with clinical signs and other diagnostic findings.
PRINCIPLE
The test employs a fluorescence immunochromatographic assay based on the double-antibody sandwich format. A specimen mixed with buffer migrates along a nitrocellulose membrane; pancreas-specific lipase, if present, binds to fluorescence microsphere-conjugated anti-cPL antibodies and is captured at the T line by immobilized anti-cPL antibodies. The C line contains an anti-species antibody serving as a procedural control. A fluorescence analyzer measures the T/C signal ratio to determine the cPL concentration.
