INTENDED USE
The Canine Cryptosporidium Antigen (CRYPTO Ag) Test kit is a fluorescence-based immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of Cryptosporidium spp. antigen in canine fecal samples. It assists veterinarians in the diagnosis of cryptosporidiosis in dogs with diarrhea, particularly in young or congregated animals, and in differentiating parasitic enteritis from other causes. This product is for veterinary diagnostic use; results should be correlated with clinical signs and, where appropriate, additional diagnostic methods.
PRINCIPLE
The test uses a double-antibody sandwich fluorescence immunoassay on a nitrocellulose membrane. Cryptosporidium antigen in the prepared fecal suspension binds to anti-Cryptosporidium monoclonal antibodies conjugated with fluorescent microspheres. The complex migrates to the test (T) line, where immobilized capture antibodies retain it, producing a measurable fluorescent signal. A control (C) line validates the assay. A portable fluorescence analyzer reads the T/C fluorescence intensity ratio to provide a qualitative result.
