INTENDED USE

The Veterinary C.Brucella Antibody (Brucella Ab) Test Kit is a fluorescence-based immunoassay intended for the qualitative or semi-quantitative detection of Brucella-specific antibodies in serum, plasma, or whole blood specimens from livestock and companion animals. It is designed to assist in the screening of brucellosis infection and epidemiological surveillance in herds or flocks. Positive results should be confirmed with reference methods such as PCR or bacterial culture. For veterinary use only.

PRINCIPLE

The test employs an indirect fluorescence immunoassay format. Recombinant Brucella antigens (e.g., LPS/OMP) are immobilized on the nitrocellulose membrane as the test line (T line). During incubation, Brucella-specific antibodies (IgG/IgM) present in the specimen bind to the immobilized antigen. A fluorescently labeled anti-species conjugate then binds to the captured antibodies, forming a detectable complex at the T line. A control line (C line) is incorporated to verify adequate specimen volume and proper membrane flow. The fluorescence intensity at the T line is read by a portable fluorescence analyzer and, relative to the C line, yields a qualitative or semi-quantitative antibody result.

SPECIMEN

Whole blood, serum, or plasma (WB/S/P). Avoid severely hemolyzed or lipemic samples; separate serum/plasma from whole blood according to standard procedures and use fresh or properly stored specimens.
