INTENDED USE

The Veterinary Cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) Test Kit is a fluorescence immunoassay intended for the quantitative determination of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) concentration in canine and feline serum or plasma. It is designed to aid in the diagnosis of myocardial injury (e.g., myocarditis, trauma, or toxic cardiac damage) and to monitor cardiac disease progression and treatment efficacy. Results should be interpreted together with clinical findings and other diagnostic information. For veterinary point-of-care use only.

PRINCIPLE

The test uses a double-antibody sandwich fluorescence immunoassay. Anti-cTnI capture antibodies are immobilized on the nitrocellulose membrane at the test line (T line). During incubation, cTnI in the specimen binds to the immobilized antibody, and a second anti-cTnI antibody conjugated to fluorescent nanoparticles binds to the captured cTnI, forming a sandwich complex. A control line (C line) confirms adequate specimen flow and reaction. The fluorescence analyzer measures the T-line/C-line fluorescence intensity ratio, which is directly proportional to the cTnI concentration in the sample and is reported quantitatively.

SPECIMEN

Serum or plasma (S/P). EDTA or heparin plasma is acceptable; test fresh specimens promptly or store appropriately; avoid grossly hemolyzed samples.
