Avian influenza virus H9 antigen (AIV H9 Ag) Rapid Test Kit
Catalog No.:
Description
This test qualitatively detects Avian Influenza Virus subtype H9 (AIV H9) antigen in secretion and cloacal swab samples from birds and poultry. It provides a simple visual result at the point of care within minutes, aiding rapid on-farm screening for H9 avian influenza.

INTENDED USE
Qualitative detection of Avian Influenza Virus H9 subtype antigen in secretion and cloacal swab samples from birds (poultry), for veterinary point-of-care use. It aids in the diagnosis and surveillance of H9 avian influenza, commonly a low-pathogenic strain in poultry. Results must be interpreted together with clinical signs and confirmed by reference methods such as RT-PCR or virus isolation.
PRINCIPLE
The AIV H9 Ag Rapid Test is a lateral-flow immunochromatographic assay based on colloidal gold labeling. The test cassette contains a nitrocellulose membrane with a test (T) line pre-coated with capture antibody and a control (C) line. When the processed secretion/cloacal sample is added to the sample well, it migrates by capillary action. If the target AIV H9 antigen is present, it binds the gold-conjugated antibody and is captured at the T line, forming a visible colored band. The C line should always appear, confirming the assay ran correctly. Results are read visually by the naked eye within the stated time; no instrument is required.
SPECIMEN
The test uses fresh secretion or cloacal swab samples from birds. Collect swabs from the oropharynx/trachea or cloaca, place them in the provided assay buffer, and mix well. Use fresh samples promptly, or keep chilled (2–8 °C) if testing is delayed; avoid heavy contamination that may affect flow.
