Canine parvovirus antibody (CPV Ab) Rapid Test Kit
Catalog No.:
Description
This test qualitatively detects antibodies against Canine Parvovirus (CPV) in canine serum or plasma. It is used in dogs to assess vaccination status or prior exposure to parvovirus and gives a clear visual result by the naked eye within minutes at the point of care.

INTENDED USE
Qualitative detection of antibodies to canine parvovirus in serum or plasma collected from dogs, for veterinary point-of-care use. Because it detects antibodies rather than the virus, a positive result indicates vaccination or prior exposure, not necessarily active infection. Results must be interpreted together with clinical signs and other diagnostics such as antigen or PCR testing.
PRINCIPLE
The CPV Ab Rapid Test is a lateral-flow immunochromatographic assay based on colloidal gold labeling. The test cassette contains a nitrocellulose membrane with a test (T) line pre-coated with capture antigen and a control (C) line. When the processed serum or plasma is added to the sample well, it migrates by capillary action. If the target anti-canine parvovirus antibody is present, it binds the gold-conjugated antigen and is captured at the T line, forming a visible colored band. The C line should always appear, confirming the assay ran correctly. Results are read visually by the naked eye within the stated time; no instrument is required.
SPECIMEN
The test uses canine serum or plasma. Collect by venipuncture; allow blood to clot and centrifuge for serum, or use anticoagulated whole blood centrifuged for plasma. Use fresh or properly stored samples; avoid hemolysis, mix well, and bring to room temperature before testing.
